What an easy way to upgrade older 6 volt lanterns! I just added this 6 volt to D cell battery converter to several different brands of old incandescent bulb 6 volt lanterns. The converters fit nicely in every lantern. The D cell batteries are cheaper to buy and make the lantern lighter than the old 6 volt battery. You can also buy lithium D cell batteries to extend the operating power in cold weather, making this ideal to leave in the truck or trunk of a car for winter months, or in an unheated out building. Another bonus is no worry about messy leaks from long term storage, which is common with alkaline batteries.
