I'm at a lost as to why so many people are having trouble. I just put in a set of 4 batteries, all of which were drained too much to work my computer mouse (wireless) and all of which showed red in the battery tester. I decided to put them in this lantern to see how long they would last. So far it has been 6 hours and no sign of quitting. And these are "exhausted" batteries. (BTW they are alkaline.)

Poor quality, bulb does'nt last can't find replacement bulb and drains battery.Poor poor quality!

I loved the way these lights looked so I bought SIX of them a couple of years ago to help keep my elderly parents safe during power failures. They were a total disappointment. The light they put out is fine and they are easy to use but the battery life is the worst. During the recent hurricane they lasted for 8 hours, not 70. They also seem to drain the batteries when not used for a few months which makes them useless for an unexpected emergency.

Mine lasted less than 30 minutes. This lantern should not be sold. It is junky.

This is my second unit in five months, the first having failed on me - and this one is failing as well. I just watched the second of four LEDs burn out the other night. Even when all the LEDs were working, the light output was abysmal. Stay away.

The "forever" bulb lasted about 60 days past Christmas. It is proprietary so you can't get a new bulb. Not a good way for a company to greet their newest customers - kids.
